Abstract
Object Request Brokers (ORB's) have been described as providing the plumbing which ties together advanced distributed applications. This session covers the technological evolution of ORB's and touches on how they may be used to solve many of the advanced mission critical problems typically experienced in large scale distributed business systems.

Biography
Clive Boustred has held senior positions and consulting engagements with numerous corporations such as Sun Microsystems (Senior Technical Strategist), General Electric (Director PC and Open Systems Group), Teknekron Software Systems (Director Technical Strategy), Hitachi Data Systems (Senior Strategist), Sequent (Systems Analyst), NCR (Senior Consultant), SCO (Systems Engineer), AutoDesk (Senior Consultant), Intuit (Senior Technical Strategist), Thyssen (Senior Consultant), etc. where he has primarily been involved in the development of Corporate Computerization Strategies. Clive specializes in Distributed Systems, CASE and Networking and is responsible for providing the vision for many highly advanced systems and some of the largest Distributed Object implementations to date.
Clive is a dynamic speaker and brings with him a considerable breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in numerous advanced technologies, providing a refreshing view of complex domains. His ability to explain the most complex technologies in straight-forward terms has helped many managers re-architect their strategic direction.
